‘Here comes the sun dudududu!’
It was starting the blog on day 4 with this song to share what a beautiful and sunny (super hot) day it is!
To be honest, I haven’t been looking forward to being the media person as it feels like a huge responsibility to capture every detail and best moments happening on the boat,
but as a crew on the Spirit and with strong resilience, I ended up running around the boat all day with multiple cameras in my hands to get the job done, sweated a lot
of course haha!
Before the trip, I DIY some keychains made out of seashells as a surprise gift for everyone. I had secretly put them on everyone’s bed and see when they would find out!
It's really important to care for each other on this journey and sometimes little surprises like this could lift our spirits a lot. Shhhhh!
As it's really hot today, it’s not easy to work on the boat with 15 ppl on board.
Seeing Shan and Rainbow (mother watch of the day) working so hard to cook and clean all day under extreme heat, it's their strong resilience that keeps them going!
The good news tho, turned out we could shower on deck using buckets of seawater, not so bad after all!
Anyway with such great weather today, I guess it's just "the calm before the storm".
Although the weather has been calm these two days, we know there are real challenges ahead of us in the coming days.
The wind intensity was low nearby the shore of East China for the past two days, so we switched on the engine and started to sail toward the Philippine Sea.
We will be sailing into the Philippine Sea and around Taiwan in the coming few days, where the Kuroshio Current creates a favorable current, together with increasing intensity of wind to guide the Spirit of OBHK towards Japan.
The boat will be sailing with the engine off. The wind and waves will be stronger than the previous two days.
The crew will need to be ready to set the sails, tacking, etc.
Fortunately, the good weather in the past two days gave us more rest. We got used to life onboard and the team bonding has grown.
We are in good spirits and ready to take on the challenges of the next few days!
All the best to us! Gotta keep the spirits up!
Ramadan Mubarak!
That right there is why I love you so much Rida! What a blog and nice photo too :3 Looking determined!
Wishing the whole crew a great journey ahead and hope the great weather lasts! Ramadan Mubarak!!
