Our team successfully completed the Hong Kong 360 challenge we set ourselves this morning, sailing over 100 nautical miles and seeing so many views we have never seen before, such as the view by the airport runway, the view under the Tsing Ma Bridge and the view of Victoria Harbour at midnight, it was such a new experience for us to understand the big picture of how our home, Hong Kong, looks like.
We originally planned to finish our journey at 12 noon, the time when the observatory will raise the T3 signal, but we finished our challenge three hours earlier, thanks to our teamwork. We had to make a lot of decisions throughout the challenge, such as when to raise or lower the sail, and choosing the best route through the sea. We gained a great sense of achievement at the moment we completed the challenge, IT IS DEFINITELY A MEMORABLE DAY IN MY LIFE.
The next day we also did mast climbing, where we have to climb up to the middle of the mast and jump off. Believe me, it is a lot harder than it looks. The further up you go, the steeper the rope gets. We found it very challenging at first. BUT NONE OF US GAVE UP, we kept trying until we reached the goal we set ourselves this morning. But nothing can compare to the feeling we had when we completed all these incredible challenges.
I have learnt a lesson from these challenges: we can't control everything in our lives, there will always be obstacles and challenges, we have to accept the changes as soon as possible and understand that change is the only constant, we could react to it in many ways, but giving up and giving up could never be one of our options.
There are still many challenges ahead of us in the next few days, but we are ready to take on all the intense challenges!
